Golen Power participated in the 6th CESTE (Shenzhen International Conference on New Energy Storage Technology and Engineering Application), held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. During the event, Chairman Zhang Haibo delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony, while Dr. Xie Lei, Chief Technical Engineer, presented a technical session on grid-forming energy storage system integration, earning strong recognition from industry experts and partners.

At the China High-Quality Development Forum for New Energy Storage, Zhang Haibo shared his perspective on the deep convergence of the global energy transition and digital transformation.
He outlined a clear industrial logic:
“Behind technological advancement lies computing power; behind computing power lies electricity; behind electricity lies renewable energy; behind renewable energy lies energy storage. And behind the safe, stable, and efficient integration of energy storage into the grid lies advanced power equipment represented by grid-forming PCS technologies.”
Zhang emphasized that energy storage has evolved from a supporting component of renewable energy projects into critical infrastructure for ensuring energy security and achieving carbon neutrality goals.
According to Zhang, overseas energy storage markets are entering a new phase characterized by rapid expansion, evolving regulatory frameworks, and increasingly sophisticated customer requirements. Meanwhile, China's energy storage industry is progressing beyond product exports toward the export of technologies, standards, integrated solutions, and ecosystem capabilities.
“Energy storage is no longer merely an accessory to renewable energy. It has become the cornerstone and stabilizer of the new power system, serving as the critical bridge between green energy and the digital world,” Zhang noted.

Grid-Forming Energy Storage Enables Diverse Microgrid Applications
On May 14, Dr. Xie Lei delivered a presentation titled “Key Technologies and Applications of Grid-Forming Energy Storage for Diverse Microgrid Scenarios.”
During the session, he highlighted the core value of grid-forming energy storage technologies in modern microgrids, including:
Active voltage and frequency establishment, enabling self-healing, self-governing, and self-balancing microgrids
Coordinated control of PV, storage, diesel generation, and loads to support diverse energy sources and load profiles
Seamless grid-connected and off-grid switching within ≤20 ms, ensuring uninterrupted power supply for critical loads
Flexible parallel operation strategies for both interconnected and non-interconnected systems, overcoming the capacity limitations of individual units
“Grid-forming energy storage is not simply a technological upgrade—it represents a fundamental leap from passive grid following to active grid support within microgrids,” said Dr. Xie.

From Tibet to Guinea: Proven Global Microgrid Applications
Dr. Xie also shared several representative domestic and international microgrid projects delivered by Golen Power, demonstrating the practical value of grid-forming energy storage technologies across diverse environments:
Tibet, China – Off-grid microgrid project significantly reducing diesel fuel consumption and operating costs
Niger, Africa – Integrated PV-storage-diesel off-grid microgrid providing reliable electricity access in remote regions
Singapore – Weak-grid microgrid solution enhancing power reliability in areas with limited grid stability
Guinea, Africa – Large-scale off-grid microgrid achieving coordinated control of wind, solar, energy storage, and diesel generation
